For the most accurate list of duties, go to http://www.monster.com
search for jobs in nurseries and greenhouses around the US. Each listing will have a list of duties. Check a couple of listings to obtain a accurate and complete list.

Finding out how much water each plant gets each week, which plants stay out in the sun, which ones don’t, how to trim them (remove dead leaves), also what kind of pots each should be put into. Not all plants require the same attention.

Growing and polinating plants. Watering plants. Getting plants ready for selling. Filling orders for retail sales. Saving seeds from flowers for more plants.Creating compost piles from the old plants and used soil. Putting compost through a shredding machine. Putting used soil through a soil sterilizer. making cuttings from parent plants and starting new plants in flats. It’s all good work if you can get it. In the winter it is like a little oasis of living growing green things when everything outside is dead. Good luck.
